As such we offer all our full-service fixed wire customers’ $0 monthly line rental amount for all 1300 numbers hosted through us (i.e. no line rental for the 1300 number).
Phone Words
Phonewords are telephone numbers that spell a word. Would you like to have a number with 1300 YOURBRAND? No matter how big or small your business is or what your business does, a phone word can benefit in serving as a vital marketing tool for your business. Imagine – a number a customer can remember in seconds. Phone words allow a customer to promote your business or product in an easy to remember way using the letters on your keypad.
The Difference Between 1300 and 1800 Numbers
1300 Numbers
- For The Caller: That the calling party (i.e. the person who calls the 1300 inbound number) only usually pays a cost of a local call from any fixed line phone anywhere in Australia to call a 1300 inbound number. If the caller is using a mobile phone, they will pay a rate that is determined by their mobile service provider.
- For the 1300 Account Holder: the first 15 minutes are FREE for calls originating from a local fixed line phone and terminating on your fixed wire landline. After the FREE first 15 minutes, our low call rates apply.
1800 numbers
-
- For the The caller: FREE from any fixed line phone anywhere in Australia. If the caller is using a mobile phone, they will pay a rate that is determined by their mobile service provider.
- For the 1800 Account Holder: Standard incoming per minute rates apply. No free minutes included.
Routing options enabled in 1300 and 1800 numbers
1300 and 1800 inbound numbers have the ability to have incoming calls routed depending on the location of the calling party and/or the time of day and furthur rerouted if the answering point is busy, not answering or not in operation.
Standard Australia-wide Routing
All calls from fixed wire services and mobile services are routed to one single answering point.
State-based Routing
Calls from fixed wire services are routed depending on the state from which the calling party is located and these calls can be routed up to eight state based answering points. All mobile calls are routed to a single answering point.
Region-based Routing
Routes all incoming fixed wire calls to one of up to 58 answering points based on the region of origin of the caller and all calls from mobiles to a single answering point.
Mobile-based Routing
Routes calls to an answering point based on the geographic area of the caller. Each of the 203 call collection areas can have two answering points; one for land line originating calls and one for mobile originating calls.
Exchange-based Routing
This feature allows your business to define call collection areas based on Telstra's Exchange boundaries where calls are routed to an answering point for each set of one or more Telstra exchange areas as designated by you. With this feature customers have the ability to route calls from approximately 4900 call collection areas up to a maximum of 1000 answering points.
All mobile originating calls can only be routed to a single answering point.
Time-based Routing
This method allows calls to be redirected depending on the time of day and the day of week.
Call Forward on Busy, No Answer or Congestion
With this option if there is a failure to connect to a specified answering point, or the answering point is busy or has no answer, it is possible to re-route the call to another phone number.
